Job Search Career Search
It's February - it's drab, it's dull, and you want to spice up your career life. But where to start? Let's take a quick look at some long standing job sites as well as some new ones - one should be right for you.
Monster.ca
Their new ad is catchy - "your calling is calling" - as are their visuals to lure you on your own path. Tried and true, this job site has been around a long time. Any changes? You bet! First of all, employers are directed to their own site now. The opening page is neater, cleaner, not as much ads. Still easy to use, BUT not as easy nor as all encompassing. You can now only choose 20 out of an estimated 60 or so categories to do a search on. Keywords of course allow you to specify, and you can now also put in a radius of where you're willing to work/travel to work.
Is it as good? Not really. More difficult to find and compare, but for those who need to find work in a specific niche, it's probably better. The plus side though is that their Resource Centre is the pride of the industry. Check out their Salary Wizard - absolutely awesome! Make sure you check it out before you go in to negotiate your next pay raise!
