Career Objective Resume Writing

It is important to remember that there are three main resume styles to choose from: the functional resume, the chronological resume, and the combination resume. Each has an advantage and can be used according to the person’s need. In order to make it a powerful tool, one shouldn’t forget including an objective and using bullet points and action oriented words.

The Three Resume Styles

The functional resume style is good for people that have recently graduated from college or someone who has limited work experience. This style sometimes makes prospective employers feel uneasy because it doesn’t include a formal account of work history. In order to prepare the resume, job seekers should mainly focus on their academic achievements and other experience that they might have.

The chronological resume style is the most traditional of the three. It puts the job applicant’s experience up front in reverse chronological order. This makes recruiters feel more comfortable about the applicant. If someone has employment gaps in their history or wants to make a career change, there are better choices.
