What is Involved in a Stop-Motion Animation Show?
Meghan Ruedger is a second assistant director on a children’s stop-motion animation television show called Wapos Bay. Her job is to provide support and complete data entry to all responsibilities during preproduction, production and postproduction. In addition, the second assistant director also works with the production assistant to keep the day-to-day needs of production addressed, such as lunch and office needs.
A Typical Day Working on a Television Set
A typical day for Ruedger involves several things, depending on what stage of production the show is in. During preproduction, she works with the art director to find out the approximate number of puppets, the amount of sets, and the type of props required. She also attends and clarifies animatic reviews to ensure all department heads have the most up-to-date information about all the episodes, and she releases scripts as they are delivered.
